Spain Is One Big Mountain

So this isn’t strictly music related, but I know Charlie from a couple local bands he’s in… which are obviously quiet at the moment whilst he’s off travelling. The Basque Country’s topography destroyed me – maybe starting a new country with an extra mountain as a detour for shits and giggles wasn’t the best idea.

The views from Jaizkibel were incredible, and the heavy rain from the previous night had had cleared, leaving clear, cool skies. I rolled into Donostia and worked out where I’d go next, the plan being to go as far as my legs would take me towards Vitoria. There being nowhere to camp I asked some locals, they recommended going into the next town and asking. Ten minutes later I spotted a large old building with political slogans, spray paint and squatters flags hanging from the windows. A group of young people sat outside, chatting.
